CONCEPT DEVELOPING

What had to be designed was simply a controller to regulate the water flow in a new manner. The aim was to find a non-invasive and user-friendly controller.

Some ideas are those presented on the image, based on levers, ropes or smart devices.

A LEVER TO CONTROL FLOW

The shape of the lever has to allow an easy control by the user and has to be understandable.

Moreover, the morphology can’t restrict the movements when washing hands, food or dishes.

2 POSITIONS

The defined lever positions, graphically described in the image allow this operation.

THIS IS TRENC

The final design is an expression of simplicity and efficiency and defines the product.

Trenc is a simple appliance designed to reduce water consumption on sink taps. When placed at the end of the tap it reduces the flow of water used, allowing the full intensity only when the lever is pushed up.

HOW IT WORKS

Basically users can control, using the lever, the aperture of the ball valve, which regulates water flow.

A spring always turn the lever back to the original position. This ensures real water saving, because it provides the water intensity needed in each case.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Product development is a key part of a design project. The goal of any project is to became a reality, and it is necessary to use as much industrial and engineering knowledge as possible.

UNIVERSAL DESIGN

The limitations and technical requeriments of Trenc Water Saver were maximizing the universality of the product.

It implies making its use possible by purely mechanic means, without any electrical or electronical installation by the user.
